Breast involvement in granulomatosis with polyangiitis: a case report

Abstract Background Granulomatosis with polyangiitis (GPA) previously known as Wegener's granulomatosis is a rare complex immune-mediated disease and multisystem disorder varying presentations where many of the imaging features GPA overlap those other diseases, hence its diagnosis can be challenging. Case presentation Here we report case 48-year-old female who presented complaints hemoptysis, difficulty in speech, bilateral progressive hearing loss and, palpable lump right breast. The was initially misdiagnosed breast carcinoma but biopsy proved to GPA. present manifestations involving head neck, breast, lungs, spleen involvement being very rare. lesion showed improvement steroids on follow-up. Conclusions though lesions are rare, thorough knowledge about this uncommon manifestation required clinical, radiological, histopathological correlation utmost importance evaluation cases avoid unnecessary surgeries. differential tumors should include such conditions that sometimes mimic cancer. Early initiation immunosuppressive treatment help better prognosis disease.
